i'm using a crochet pattern indeed, it's called matteo fingerless gloves, on ravelry, and they're super easy.
the reason why they're super easy can be used for knitting too. they're just 2 seamed rectangles, with space left for the thumb. no individual fingers, no dpns needed for the thumb even. just knit a rectangle flat and seam it and then do it again for your other hand. easy peasy
